The 4.2 is not an engine for the faint of heart or light of wallet...

Oh I’m going to want to see service records, but it seems young enough that some preventative maintenance can head off any major headaches for a while, especially considering I only put about 8k miles a year in my car.

Only if you do a lot of highway miles since you can touch 30 mpg with that 4.2L.

I cannot, in good conscience, even try to talk you out of this. Just be prepared for the maintenance.

My boss is driving an A7 he picked up post-depreciation. I feel the need to one-up.

S6s and S7s don't appear to have depreciated as well.

They also started a bit higher. An s7 for 40k probably isn't the one you want anyways.

I used to have an Audi with a 4.2L. Used to. Like appropriate for many a Audi 4.2Ls, this one ate itself from the inside out, staring with the chain tensioners, ending with valve and potential piston damage. Now mine was a 2005, and had 150k on it when it did that, so you should be safe for a little while. Needless to say though, at that point I got quoted upwards of $10k to fix it.

That is a stunning car for loaded Kia money.
